Hi Matt i myself managed to pick up a K-98 De-Act rifle from my local militaria shop(it's now shut down ) the rifle is stamped from 1943 and it comes with the bayonet(+scabbard) the only thing missing from it was the sling but i managed to improvise one for it i'm hoping to try and land on some telescopic sights for it but at the moment i can't seem to find any that are cheap

When I bought my Lee Enfield a couple of years ago the shop also had several K98's - mostly ex-Yugoslav and in very good condition. I was tempted but liked the Lee action better.

My great uncle gave me a K-98 he took off of an SS trooper in the Bulge. The rifle is in the same condition it was in when he snagged it. Matching parts, blueing, no rust. And... it fires like a beauty. I can fully understand how the Germans marched across Europe twice with that thing. Amazing piece of hardware. To be honest, of all the rifles (hunting, military, etc.) I own and have fired, I must admit that it is by far my favorite. A close second is my M-14 or Remington 700. Neither, however, come close to the power you feel in that 8mm. Thing is a beast.
