Nice deal Chris. Was looking over at your site and those old USMC M60 pics brought a tear to my eye, poor things being left out to rust like that. They should sell those off, would make a nice dio and bring back some good memories.

Maurice,
When I visited the museum where they're located, there were about a dozen of them sitting behind the main building, not even on display. It's like the Marines just dumped a bunch of leftover M60A1's from 29 Palms there. I'll do a write up on the museum early next year with more details about what is there.

That sounds about right, once we got the M1's I'm sure they wanted to chuck those 60's away as quickly as possible. Would be nice for them to preserve more of them for museums and collectors, if they're just going to sit there and rust away they should just give the dang things away. I'd love to get back in one for old times sake and of course for a nice walkaround with my digital camera! lol

I'll post some pics of one that belongs to a local collector in my next site update. I have interior and engine shots of it. I'll even include the reactive armor if I can find those pics.

Great news! Looking forward to that one, the pics on the site have helped me realize the desert scheme I remember isn't exactly right for my Academy build. So off will come the paint if I can't straighten out my mistakes. Not that it mattered, my first camo experience with the AB hasn't fared all that well anyway. lol
