Check with Chris at CRM Hobby in St. Louis. He used to carry an exact duplicate of the Tamiya white metal gun with a few improvments. He may still have some. And they are cheaper.

You are right bobcat: The Tamiya kit is realy in white metal.
I have one for you, if you are yet interested.
The kit is unmade and sealed.
Only the box indicates its age....

The only time I ever saw the Tamiya kit was when I was stationed in Germany in 1988. It was at a local hobby shop and part of their old store stock. The white metal kit was laid out on a piece of cardboard with the parts displayed through a blister pack.
The kit was pricey even back then and you could see all the pieces in the kit. I passed on it since the molding did not look very good.

Try calling Chris at CRM hobby in St. Louis, MO.
He did have an upgraded copy of the old Tamiya kit. It was also in metal with better details and slightly better engeneered. Don't think he has a current web site so you'll have to look the number up or call info.
Sorry, that's the best I can do. Used to sell under $25.00.
