I have managed to snap the front bit of the canopy of my Eduard Mirage IIICJ in half, and tried gluing at back together, but Ive made a right mess of it. I dont think there are any aftermarket canopies for this model, so has anybody got any ideas how I might be able to scratch build the front bit of the canopy (the smaller part).
Any help would be much appreciated
thanks
Tom

Hi! Tom
Try this, firstly, whats left out of the old piece? if there is anything left, then get some clay from
Michaels etc. they have some clays that air dry, use the old part as a master and lay part over,
shape as desired and when the clay dries up, you would need to get some thermaform sheets from
Squadron
and follow instructions and you should be able to get a replacement clear part.
note: this takes practice

Thanks for the help kenny. I have got all of the old piece left, but it is just too messed up to even try to use again. I will try using clay and thermaform. Do you know where I can get thermaform in the UK, because the shipping costs to the UK are ridiculous. (Just the thermaform sent by airmail to the UK costs about $33, and the thermaform only costs $9 , stupid isnt it!)

Why not just email Eduard and explain the problem and ask if they can send you a replacement part.
cheers

not really knowing what it looks like, so i may be blowing wind here.
make mold with complete pieces
pour clear coat over mold, let dry, and see if that helps.
