Now if I would have carried my Uzi like this, I would have been in trouble...
Pic from pottz88 btw

Hehe,
Anyone in the British army seen carrying a weapon pointing at the ground or in the air will usually hear 'This isnt bloody Vietnam private'! bellowed by the nearest NCO
Cheers
Joe

Maybe he is contemplating which toe to lose to get his "ticket" home.
Certainly swanning around like this in Oz would attract all sorts of unwanted attention from every NCO in voice range. Might lead to a few days of being unable to sit down if the CSM's foot is close by.

Agreed, he needs to lift the muzzle as in my ‘old’ instructor’s words: “the ground has done you no harm, YET!”
Henk, look on the bright side, if you had been carrying an Uzi in the SA Army (because of the Uzi’s infamous safety record) you would have been the loneliest person in your unit, nobody would have been near you, just like after a night out drinking Rum and eating Garlic! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
This ‘lonely’ phenomenon extended to (pistol) armed non-combat officers, as they had a terrible record for discharging rounds into the ground and on the odd occasion their own feet. This mainly because they carried the old Star pistols 'cocked and locked' (hammer fully cocked with safety on).

They let officers have guns!!!!!!! They're dangerous enough with a map and compass! LMAO - Always best to leave them in the mess and let the NCOs run the show.
The old SLR that I used in the service was too long to carry like that - the muzzle would have left a scrape in the ground!

Well looking at the picture I have to say that carrying your gun that way will be the least of your problems if you have parked your Humvee that way.

Ya the FN C1 was to long for that .But if my RSM saw that (finger on the trigger) he wouldn't just kick your but,it would be so far up he could trim his toe nails out your nose!
