I thought it was about time I introduced myself, as I have been in the wings for quite some time listening to all the helpful conversations in the various forums. I discovered modeling in 1/35 th scale in the late 80's by visiting a local hobbyshop whom, I'm disheartened to say have long since closed. They did had several dioramas on display (1/35th WW2) that I assume were built by and donated by (a) local modeler(s). And as they say, it was hook line and sinker for me!! I enjoyed building models, oblivious to the "proper methods" of painting and construction, for several years. I am afraid that all I built and collected ended up in the dustbin not long after I received my drivers licence and discovered cars and girls!
Fast forward to the late 1990's and I rediscoved the hobby via the internet!!! I am happy to say that I now have a closet full of unbuilt and 1/2 built kits!! Due to work, school and multiple moves, I am still awaiting the day when I can focus my attention to actually completing a model (and perhaps posting a picture!)
In regards to this forum / community / family, I must say that I am quite moved by the professionalism (regarding the hobby) and consideration (regarding the modelers) shown by all who post here. You all are to be commended!
Cheers, and Happy Holidays!

Welcome aboard John.
Many years ago, in my youthful days I use to go up to New Brunswick fishing. Always enjoyed the fun and fellowship I found up there.
These days I'm thrilled to be able to walk to the lake to fish for a few hours.
Looking forward to seeing your work.

Ha ha John that story sounds kind of familiar!
While I didn't throw my stuff out, I did get side tracked for a while by the lure of cars and girls. Not to mention beer and a desire to live in the Rockies in Alberta for a while also.
You will find the people on here to be great and very helpful. Its a great community.
Welcome back.

Hello all!!
Many thanks go out to everyone for responding to (and reading) my post! You all can certainly make a fella feel welcome!! i have nothing new to add at the moment as my time has been divided between gatherings with friends and family and educational responsiblities. I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy new year's eve!!
As a final note: I have notice that folks are mentioning that they would like to see some pics of my work... I must say that "peer pressure" is a great source of incentive!!! The pressure is on!!! Now, where did I put that M3 scout car and that half finished dio base........???
only 8 hours to go!!!
