Hi all, My daughter and her boyfriend took a weeks holiday in NewYork last week they came to see us last night, said how they loved the big Apple also they went on a horse and carriage ride through central park she said it was just getting dark and snowing the trees covered like a winter wonderland The driver was playing white Christmas on a tape player,my daughters boyfriend then produces a diamond ring and pops the question. Is that Romantic or what, i had a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat. Well we opened a bottle or two of Bubbly and celebrated in the time honoured manner. Oh dave (grumpy) they got lost and ended up in Joisey I warned them about the inhabitants so they quickly got back to Manhattan :-)

Nice john, congratulations to the both of them. Good to here they enjoyed the Big Apple, and survived without a mugging or shooting in front of them. Nice carriage ride also, I usually spring for one when I go to the city, but I make it a steady practice to never carry diamond rings..... and to never pop the "question of death."
Did they also take the rickshaws???? Those things are a p*sser.... taking your life in your hands riding them. I take the rickshaws around midtown instead of cabs, a little more money, but a lot more fun....

dave as they both live in London muggings and shootings are quite normal over here only our judges like to reward the muggers and tax the victims. We also have the rickshaws, no way would i get in one of them, I ride a bike which is nearly as bad..

John, congradulations to your daughter.
Marriage is a wonderful institution, I myself took the plunge and we had two wonderful kids, course now I can legally park in the handicapped space at the mall.
Good thing they didn't get lost in south Joisey, us Pineys usually eat tourists and use the leftovers for fish bait, why my next door neighbor is the nephew of the Joisey Devil.
