Hi Everybody,

I'm trying Vallejo paints and need some RLM/RAL references for colour matching. I've tried the Dark Yellow but it doesn't look right for either DAK or the factory base coat colour.... Any Ideas?

Thanks

Thanks Dave,

I've printed that chart, But what are the RAL colours for a Tiger? or a Pzkfw 2 in Africa? Is there a reference for this anywhere on the net?

Thanks

Well I guess it helps to look yourself before asking .....

For Anyone who needs these answers as well.

The below has been cross referenced with 4 sites. One was official RAL Colours. And Missing-Lynx Thomas Jentz and Hilary Doyle.

1942 Afrika Braun RAL 8020 - no matching colour in Vallejo as per their own colour chart.

1941 Dunkelgrau RAL 7021- Vallejo match 862 black grey

1942 Afrika Dunkelgrau RAL 7027- no match

1941 Africka KhakiBraun RAL 7008 - Vallejo match 880 Kakhi grey ( olive green colour of first Tigers and DAK uniform Tunics)

1943 Dunklegeld nach muster RAL 7028 - no match for the standard factory base coat give to all panzers made after 1942.

1944 Olivgruen RAL 6003 - Vallejo match 890 reflective green, green used in camoflage pattern.

1943 Rotbraun RAL 8017 - Vallejo match 872 chocolate brown, brown camo colour.

1944 Primer Rot RAL 8012 - no match for primer coat.

So it turns out I was right Vallejo don't have a matching colour for the factory applied base coat of Panzer made after 1942.

I hope this helps you as much as it has me.
