I'm pretty new to photography and am looking for help with Macro Lenses.
I have been given an old Minolta XGM SLR with a standard lens. I want to buy a Macro Lens for taking photos of my models.
I have poked my nose around and seen a number of lenses and would like to get feedback on the 'stats' of a lens.
What would you recommend in the way of focal length, for example 80mm-200mm vs 50mm-100mm?
What would you recommend in the way of an f stop. They spec them such as f2.2 vs f3, whats better.
Then there are ratio's on magnification 1:2, 1:4. I'm guessing 1:1 is best, am I right.
All I want this lens to do is to take pictures of models with at a depth of field as close to about 2 feet as possible.
Any helps is appreciated.
