you'd have to cast it like normal resin..... What are you trying to make?

trying to recreat the knobs for my hvac controlls in my car. Would like to make them clear so when the dash lights up they will glow in the same color i have changed the lights to.

But also would like to add some texture in to the mold like flames so they will have that one them when not lit up.

I can not find clear knobs for it off of another car that will work So if i can make my own then i can do the flames in to the mold and have them all one peice.

you could get the supplies from http://www.smooth-on.com as long as you have a master you could sculpt the flames in epoxy putty on the original knob then cast them.

that depends... if raised detail is what you want , then it's the way to go... if you want engraved...... a metal mastr makes if more difficult to do.

Some one beat me to it. Use the original, sculpt the flames on it and then cast it. Very simple to do. Have fun. "Q"

Hey there.. I see some clear resin at craft stores mainly at A.C. Moore and Michales. its used to make things like paperweights with objects inside them and such.... suppose to come out crystal clear... though I've never used it..just seen in.. comes in a blue tin can I think...
