a generic set of waterslide British WWII tac numbers and letters? I say generic because I need to make up the name of the vehicle I want to model and I say waterslide because the decals would have to be applied over zimmerit.

Try Archer Fine Transfers..they might have what you're looking for.

I just made up a set of custom decals fror Mothers CH-46.

If you can't find any I could make up a sheet of anything - just need info / example.
