Has anyone figured out what the best color for a floor is???

Grey... White...... & some Tan's won't work...... I have a concrete floor in need of paint (after I re-surface it to romove the "potholes" in it) it's currently Battleship Grey & concrete Grey (where the holes are)

Plastic is: Yellow, White (raw stock), Green, Grey, Tan
Resin is: White & Cream

And there's PE, brass..... and other Bits to worry about as well.....

Thoughts????????

Whatever the floor/carpet color is, a part will be lost on/in it. The best is a hard white floor. Even white plastic has somewhat of a contrast on it. In my case SHMBO has the say on any interior decisions. Yes, even in my workroom( a converted bedroom(.

Matt beat me to it... I woul d go with one of the epoxy based paints for the floor. I am doing this in my new garage once complete. Regardless of floor color, parts will undoubtably find that black hole where all of the single socks and occassional pair of underwear go. "Q"

The floor of my basement work area is covered in a white commercial grade linoleum tile. The flooring in this room was finished this way when we bought the house, and I've found that the color of this tile really helps when I drop some part or another. The walls are also off-white in color, along with a white drop ceiling and lots of fluorescent light fixtures. Yes, it is very sterile and lab-ish looking, but I'm happy with the environment.

Since i started working at the new bench, I have not permanently lost a dropped kit part. Some have taken a while to find, but the white floor and good lighting really helps.

I think Id be going with an off white myself.. May cut the glare from any overhead lights and be a bit easier on the eyes...

Matt, this is going to sound weird but I would suggest blue.

If you are painting the floor for the purpose not having to get on your knees to search lost parts, I think blue will work.

I heard that's the reason some auto-mechanic shops paint the floor blue.
