Thanks for the link. You made me well up in my office, which isn't a bad thing.
I forwarded this to a friend who was on the USS Chicago during the war, the second ship into Tokyo Bay behind the Missouri.

Oh, and happy Veteran's Day and thank you, too.

Hi Friends,..
Bless em all.... A family member he was a returned veteran.
In 1938 he played in the All Black trials for the tour to England?? he played in the forwards,.. went away to the war...when our troops eventually returned home,
and in front his family being led from the boat, with a small sign around his neck " in sane "the family never new until that point...... he was a Veteran.....l new him only as a small boy he was huge man but he never talked, then he died....
