I want to scratchbuild a flatcar for a Tiger I. Has anyone tried this? If so can you recommend any resources with pics, maybe even plans.
Thanks

I was sure there was a resin one available specific to the Tiger, or even one in plastic. I guess not. But what you can do is purchase a Fleischman flat car in 1/87, and upscale it. You can get wheels, couplers, and bumpers from a plastic DML rail car kit.

DML has produced a Flatbed, the one with wooden planks and without the vertical armour surround. The box art shows a Flakpanzer IV Kugelblitz moving onto it. Bad news is that it may be discontinued.
I have one in the stash. I would be able to photocpy or scan the instruction sheet for you, if that helps.
As 18 Bravo said, you can use some parts from other DML railcars which are still available, such as DML kit no. 6085.

Thanks, but I decided that the flatcar was not necessary for what I wanted to do on my current project. While doing research, however, I became really interested in maybe builing one in the future, so I would be happy to get info.
Cheers
