Hey all!

I'm planning to place an order at Hobby Easy (see the red banner on the left).
Just to make sure: How are your experiences with this company? No problems with creditcards etc.?
They promise a 9 day worldwide shipping, sounds great but is that realistic?

Please let me know!

Hobby Easy - Hong Kong webshop has many low price kits, mostly from Trumpeter, Tamiya, Hasegawa, Italeri... but some kit accessoiries (i.e. Eduard PE parts) are lightly expensive than the webshops in Poland.

I'd bought many kits from this webstore, no problem with Credit card and if you need help, Daniel, the webshop manager can help you.

To receive the parcel post from Hong Kong to France by Airmail, it takes from 7 days, the fastest to 12 days, the slowest.

Hope that helps.

Paul,

Hobbyeasy is OK, but beware of the Dutch customs, I ordered from them once, and had to pay to the postman.

Take note they write the real price on the box.

Consider buying at luckymodel, they send the packages via Germany, I ordered some packages there and never had any problems with customs.

If you have more questions PM me, so I can explain more in Dutch then

Hi 007, I've used them several times with no problems. Just don't take their delivery date to be accurate, if they say nine days, it probably means twelve days.
I don't have to pay the postman everytime. It could happen to any order from any shop, not just Hobby Easy.
If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Hi Jaap en mossieramm,

Thanks for your replies. If I stay below the 120 euro the customs won't charge extra for it, if I'm well informed that is...
Let's hope it works

Hi Paul. I bought once from them. Had no problems at all. Was very pleased with service, packing, price and was within 12 days.

I don´t know where you got this information, but I find that hard to believe. From what Ive heard they can charge, no matter what it costs.

Just a warning for dutch buyers who don't already know..
I recieved 2 packages this morning from Hobbylink Japan (that arrived at Schiphol 9 days ago),
1st package had goods worth 12 euro, had to pay 23 euro to customs..
2nd package goods worth 43 euro, had to pay 29 euro to customs..
The most is actually not tax, it's so called declaration costs.
So be warned, Dutch customs have a license to rob you.

WOW! That's a sting! How can they charge more than the actual value??

Actually, I bought several times now from HobbyEasy (since my original post is from 2005) and I'm only charged by customs when the value of the goods is more than 50 euro's. Below this ammount; zero taxes!
Be sure that they send the goods as "gifts" or "sample", and let them write the ammount of goods (excl. postagecosts) this will help!
Same with orders from the US!

I've had stuff from japan before marked 'samples' and they went through customs no problem. This was my 1st order from Hobby link so I wasn't sure how it would go.
I'm going to contest the charges though and see what happens.
A box with a invoice on it marked 1,980yen (12euro) gets taxed 23,21euro is just nuts.
I think I'll mail Hobbylink about the 'samples' thing, see what they say.

Hi, I just bumped into HobbyEasy too and saw quite a lot of things I'd like to buy. I'll be waaay above the 50€, but I'm not sure whether the same rules apply to Belgium.

Has anyone ever had their stuff come over by ship (surface)? I'm not in a hurry to have to models so I was planning on saving on the shipping costs. Or will this only worsen the possibility of getting checked by customs?

Thanks for the info!

John

Hobby easy are great and Daniel is very helpful. The Irish Customs Service did stop one parcel from them and warned me that any one order over €22 is liable to Customs Duty and a handling fee. On my assurance that the parcel worth 37€ was a one off they waived the duty.
