I just got mine a couple weeks ago and am curious who else has a concealed carry permit for their firearm. Missouri just enacted their CCW law last year.

Andreas,
They are referring to having a permit that allows them to carry a firearm(gun) concealed on their person.
Ohio enacted theirs about a year ago.
If I carry ,it's a S&W model 1076 (10mm) or a S&W CS9...and I don't need a CCW permit

Michigan just changed a few years ago from a MAY ISSUE to a SHALL ISSUE CCW. Basically a May Issue Permit means a person has the burden to prove he/she needs a CCW. Shall Issue means that the gun board has the burden to prove a person shouldn't be allowd to carry one within the defined parameters of the law.
I have not gotten one yet because the gun boards and classes are backed up with so many people wanting CCWs

Thanks Darryl, then I understand...
But why do people need it? (I don´t want to start flaming/hijacking thread or anything, it just feels very wierd for me to hear that people are walking around with guns. Most a rhetorical question, just had to say it

You're right! Why do we need it? People should be able to carry guns around without having to ask your government for permission.

In the Great State of Vermont - The only restriction on carring conceled weapons is; not in federal buildings, court houses, and the cities of Burlington, Barre, Montpelier and Rutland. Anything else goes. OBTW you are required to carry a weapon to church on Sundays, and its ok to carry a weapon on your hip, in plain view anywhere except federal buildings.
I don't carry, but if I did it would be aWalther PPK

You know the old saying....
There are a million reasons not to get a gun, but it's the one reason you didn't think about that you need a gun

Civilians can't carry around ANY sort of gun over here. Special permits are issued for certain hunting weapons (read bolts or SGs). Doesn't really matter, since the weapon of choice for bank robbers and armed criminals here is the T56 (Chinese AK). You might as well as piss at them as pull out a handgun.

Yes unfortunatly here in Canada, there is no such thing as a Concealed Weapon Permit. Unless you are a officer of the law of course...but then you don't need a permit.
In order to even possess a handgun here you have to have a possesion and/or Possession and buying permit. As well a permit from your local police department allowing you to transport that handgun from your home to a range for target/competitive shooting and back home.
For each handgun, you need a transportation permit, and that permit is only good for that one particular shooting range.
Basically it boils down to needing a mountain of paperwork to not only own a handgun in your own house....but to transport it anywhere.
Rifles and shotguns don't need as much paperwork, but can still be a pain in the butt.
One thing I will always admire about the US, The Right to Bear Arms.
