Has anyone tried printing decals with an inkjet printer. I was considering using this methode to reproduce duplicate decal sheets so I could have multiple vehicles from the same units. I was just wondering about the pro's and con's, and if it was worth the trouble.

I've had a lot of success printing my own decals with an inkjet printer - perhaps too much - as I posted artwork on my personal website and got copied! Don't be afraid to give it a try.

GunTruck, do you put any thing over the printing out of the inkjet printer? I heard that inkjet decals will bleed allover the place because of water soluable ink.

Yes. I used MicroMark's inkject decal paper. It has a surface that accepts the ink from an inkjet printer. Other brands have a really glossy surface that the ink can't grip onto - it pools up into little beads

When printed, I seal the ink with MicroMark's Clear Fixative Spray, Future Floor Finish, or even Gloss or Dull Cote lacquer spray. However, all of these products I use carefully and apply a really light mist. I even decant the sprays into a jar for airbrushing. Too heavy of any of these can cause the ink to run.

Krylon Acrylic Clear Matt also works... it is basically the same stuff as the Micro-Mark spray and a lot cheaper.
I too love the Micro-Mark paper and yes, it accepts my Epson printer ink just fine...
I spray once with a very light coat, let it dry and put one more light mist on it.
