Well tomorrow is the 1st day of squirrel out here and the 1st day of hunting season for me. So wish me luck for a good start for the new season.

I still need to get the orange out and swap stuff between pockets in my coats but other than that I’m already ready to go.

And I wish the best of luck to any other hunters we have here that will be going out tomorrow.

If you can't find any squirrels out your way, come a little east..... we have plenty for you. :-) :-)

Or West... I live in town so I can't shoot 'em but we like to call them "furry tailed rats." They get into everything. My cable went out because they chewed through the line...
While you are at it you can bag the opossums and the raccoons, too. I have plenty of all three.

Shaun :-)

If you ever finish up with Dave's and Shaun's come on out here too. They roost in my attick and drive my dogs to distraction. I'm sure they're never going to ever actually catch one, but it's not for lack of trying.

Thanks guys.

Things went pretty good this morning.

It wasn’t raining or to cold. I didn’t get out until almost 8:00 but by 9:00 I had a nice gray. Didn’t see anything else moving around so I came back. Got home before 10:00.

Only took 1 shot all morning. This was the 1st I’ve gone hunting with this 12ga. (Never really liked the sights on it)

Any way with a bag limit of 6 per bay I’ll be back out this evening.

So far it looks like the start of a good season.

Rodger just watch out you could be surprised. We have a black lab that managed to grab one. Then he brought it in and let go of it. What a fun time that was.

If I run out here I’ll keep you guys in mind.

When the weather starts to change do you get that feeling that all is right with the world? Pheasant season is coming up and I can't wait. Good look and hope you limit out

Many years ago, back in the land of teeth, hair, and wife, we were sitting in the living room, and our dog started acting wacky.... (our dog was always wacky, living with me seems to have that effect on women and beast)
Well, it seems a squirrel worked it's way between the floor joists, and scracthed his way through the ceiling, and had his paw sticking out.......
The dog went nuts barking, the wife went nuts screaming...... and I climbed up on a chair and started shaking his hand.......

He disappeared, never to be seen or heard from again.......
I have that effect on women, beast and squirrels....... :-) :-) :-)

Good luck on the rest of the hunt.

I know what you mean snowman. I feel that way whenever I’m in the woods.

Pheasant comes in on Saturday out here but its not a major season for me. I’ll just carry a few #4s with me incase I run into some.

Around here we have very few Pheasant that are wild. Most of them are stocked a few weeks before they come. The whole flock will walk right up to you if they see you so it kind of takes the challenge out of it.

Thanks for the laugh Dave.
