I was talking with my wife recemtly about all the movies that have been done from old TV series-The Twilight Zone, The Fugitive, The Addams Family, even the Brady Bunch Movie. It's always fun because she's eleven years younger and in many cases never saw the originals. Anyway, I thought that one series which definitely deserves a movie is Hawaii Five-Oh.
I even have a few leading roles in mind: Johnny Depp as Steve McGarrett; (who else has the hair?) Chris O'Donell as Danno; Michelle Yeoh in any role. Still out on who plays Chin.
And for movies NOT based on a series, I'd like to see one called "Six Days in the Desert," with Ed Harris as Moshe Dayan.

How about a movie remake of "Combat!"? It was a great series with teriffic writing. It was often a good character study. The squad was realistic and the gear was very accurate. Likely they used originals since it was on only twenty years after WWII.

But, who would star in it? I haven't the foggiest idea for that one.

I've mentioned this before, but I'd like to see a film of The Prisoner, the Patrick McGoohan series.
Also, a film or series of the quality of SPR/Band of Brothers about the Brits in WW2, based in the Mediterranean theatre.
I don't think I'll hold my breath, but having said that, the new James Bond is rumoured to be Casino Royale, so you never know!

Well that's half the fun-choosing the cast for your movie. In the case of combat, who most resembles Vic Morrow? (No tasteless Ichabod Crane jokes please)

Steve, I don't know if you have statelite but they show Time Tunnel on Action, channel 343, here on Direct TV at 6:00 in the morning most weekdays. Right before back to back episodes of Combat.

Charlie there has been a lot ot talk over the years about a movie made from Combat.

It was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid, though for some reason my Mom couldn't stand Vic Morrow. I think she kind of had the hots for Rick Jason though.

I had the whole Saunders bit. A small scale army uniform, coplete with buck sergent stripes, Tommy Gun, camo helmet cover, the whole bit. Ahhh those were the days, playing "army" with my buddies.

I think I'm having trouble visualizing a new cast because the old cast was so strong. Each had such a strong personality. Geez, now I'm going to be thinking about this one all night.

Casting rule No. 1: Anyone who was in "Pearl Harbor" need not apply.

Boyohboyohboy. You must have been the envy of the neighborhood. I had a generic helmet, but I did have the tommy gun. Are we dating ourselves, or what?
