Hi, I was fumbling around in the news section of this Infernal Machine a while ago--don't ask how I found it, as I have enough trouble getting on this site at times--and happened across a company called LifeGem that will take the ashes of your loved one and put them into super-heated overs, which turn the ashes into a grafite substance and then presses them under extreme pressure and turns it into diamonds. And I guess there the real things. The article, of course, says it's not for everyone's personal taste.

Kind of intersting twist of fate for somebody isn't it? Would you do this for someone you loved as a reminder of them to wear on you, or for someone you hated, to make money off of the sale of the gems in revenge for a past misdeed?

An intersting concept nonetheless. Just when I think I've heard it all.........

Take care, Sgirty

There was an advertising campaign over here that used this in their ads.....I don't think anybody was supposed to take it seriously. I think such pressures have been attained, but only for small samples of industrial grade diamonds.

Hi, At first I thought it wasn't for real either, but I looked the company on on the 'serach' thingy here and Lifegem there, for real. No joke. Like you, I don't know how they attain the pressures either, but there is definitely something to it.

This could certainly open up a whole new concept in 'getting rid of the body' in big crime dealings.

Take care, Sgirty

heres a web article for yall

Manufactureing diamonds

they've been making small diamond crystels for 50 years for industrial applications. but now adays they can make em upwards of 3 carets of gemstone quaility.. i've read up on these a time or 2..

The orginal concept seems to be russian.. maybe they were trying to find ways to make their own money.....

:-H

and now the concept and tech is here to stay.. and yes I read that article on making your ashes into a diamond a few days ago and I personally think it might be a bit morbid myself. .. also havn't funeral's gotten expensive enough without adding another option to the bill..

How much is such a diamond worth?
Perhaps you can pay the funeral with it :-) :-) :-)
