Hi. I was wondering if anyone has a minimum spec for a digital camera that will be used for scale model photography? I've seen 1MB DC photos and thought they were very poor.
Thanks
Jeff

Hi Jeff
I have an Olympus Camedia 150 camera. It's 'only' 1 MegaPixel, but has optical zoom. I think zoom and lens quality are the major determinants of image quality. I was using a 2 MP camera before (from work, so I didn't have to drop the big $$$$). It was easier to get a nice closeup, but the camera cost almost US$600 versus US$140 for the camera we bought.
It's important not to rely on digital zoom.
There was a nice thread about picking cameras recently.

Most digital cameras offer some kind of macro-zoom, but I would definately say that's a must. The only other feature that I found on a high-line camera that may start to filter down to some of the lower-priced cameras would be flash intensity. This helped me quite a bit when I was shooting at AMPS last time.
Cheers,
Jim
