The link below will take you to about a dozen pics of models that medaled at the 2005 Nordicon show.
The Sherman is a 1/72 offering, the dozer is an absolutely gorgeous 1/35th model that medaled gold. The plane is all pe, and according to a note from the builder, just about drove him "over the edge" a couple times before it was done--(it was very delicate looking).

Nordicon is sponsored by a club that is more aircraft focused, so there were a number of very high quality a/c presentations there. Armor was also fairly well represented, with some figs, -- but very few dio's, and naval and SCI FI were almost non existent.

I've found this to be the case at most of the shows I've gone too.... including previous NORDICONs when they were at the Thunderbird in Bloomington.
