Hello guys!
Me and my wife took up a decision to imigrate to a foreign country, and we choose Australia.
We´re looking for all the requirements to obtain the resident VISA right now.
My question is: Does any australian pals around here could point me how is (in general aspect) the life in Australia? I mean, how the people react to the foreigners, how are the chances to get a job (I´m an Agricultural engineer, and my wife is a civil engineer), we aren´t worry about to go to low density population region, we´d like to settle down in Australia and creat our life with our two little girls.
I´m really interested in hearing your outputs.
Cheers!

Paulo in most cases you would be welcomed with opened arms. I know most folk here judge a person by what they do or say and not by color or country. But having said that there are prejudiced people here as well as everywhere else in the world.

Queensland is probably the most relaxed State and I know that skilled folk are in much demand. One thing to be very careful about is that your qualifications are valid here. I was from New Zealand and they would not and will not accept a lot of my qualifications without me having to resit them again here at great expense. Educational institutes here in Queensland are quick to give you a bill for a whole lot of money if they can.

As to lifestyle there is nothing like it though and I would not shift from Australia now for all the tea in China. My wife and I are now Australian Citizens and have our little piece of paradise where we live.

Not sure where you would get info on visas though but I am sure we have an embassy or consulet in Brazil and they should have all that information availiable.

cheers
Cliff

Thanks guys for tha attention!
I already contact the brazilan consulate and get some informations to get the VISA, now I´m working on it...

By any chance, do you know if have poultry farms in Australia? Because I do have a large experience working on it, as you must to know Brazil is the first country in poultry export.

Do you know any local employee agency that I could contact to send my profile?

Cheers

Try going to the Australian embassy's website, usually the embassy website has all or most of the info you need, visa wise.

Brisbane Is far far better - hey but I am very very biased cause I love my City -John you should have come and lived here mate you would have never left
:-) :-) :-) (we do get some very humid and muggy days that even I complain about-I ride a Road push bike and it can get very uncomfortable in those times)

Hi Ian,Only got up to Brizzy once it was a Sunday and the pubs were shut!, but honestly i like what I saw and the weather is great, I did spend sometime in Surfers friend of mine had a unit up there and a thirty two foot cruiser (dont you just hate some people) we stayed there for two weeks then came back to pommy land to the coldest winter for about 20 yrs now that was a shock. Look after that beautiful country I might pop back one of these years
