Here is a thought...

Let's build up a database of all the instruction sheets on how to build a kit. Just scan the sheets and save it on the pc, saves a lot of space for displaying models instead of keeping all the redundant pieces of paper.

I can start off with say oh about 50. Anybody else interested?

Or is there already such a database available on the web, if so please let me know the address.

Thanx

Please refer to the recent thread on copyright laws and I think that will explain why this hasn't been done

This site has a bunch of Tamiya instructions on it. Just put the model name in the search field. Then click on the image and you will see Assembly Guide followed by a few page numbers. Click on the page # to see each page.

Don't think the Copyright BS is really an issue. There are a bunch of sites that have instruction scanes. We are not talking about someone's novel here. Don't think anyone is going to make any money off instruction sheets.

By the way, I will continue t make copies of model parts for my use as well.

Some manufacturers make them available on their website. Eduard (WW1 aircraft ) and Pocher (high-detail automobiles) are two that come to mind.

I see nothing wrong with the concept, I just see it as a monumental task & we as modelers would be better off to suggest to manufacturers that they provide them (ala Eduard, Pocher, etc) as a service.

As I understand the copyright laws, you can share them as long as you don't sell them. I believe you also must credit the original sourse...in this case it would be obviously shown on the sheets.
