Here are a few pics from the IPMS CT September club competition.... I must confess the pics are really just of my favourite pieces, and although there were more great models, I didn't get to photograph them all due to bad lighting and a lack of time before the meeting started...
Also, let me apologise for my poor photographic skills...
I hope you enjoyed looking at them
Rudi
p.s. club guys.... you are all welcome to showcase your clubs' models here...

Some very nice pieces Rudi. Have we seen the universal carrier before, on Armorama? It looks familiar. Any idea who makes that base or is it a kitbash/scratch of several items? Thanks for sharing.

According to the modeler, the Universal Carrier was built OOB, as were the figures, with the exception of the foremost seated one - his arms were adjusted slightly so as to lean forward more naturally. Although I can't find any reference to it on the Verlinden site, he said the base is the Verlinden "Down Town" set... perhaps it's OOP? Some of the items like the toilet roll holder were scratchbuilt...
None of these models have featured on Armorama before... Glad you like them though...

Some nice models indeed Rudi, that Stuka looks massive, is it 1:32?
Nice finish to the Tiger aswel, but I'm affraid I have some bad news for the builder of it.....the driver and co-driver hatch periscopes are facing the wrong way, it looks the hatches have been reversed? This seems to be a common mistake on Italeri instructions. .
And there's nothing wrong with your photo skills, but with the overhead lights as they are, you might want to try using the flash to fill in the shadows, or if possible on your camera change the white balance to match the light source.
Cheers
Henk

Thanks Costas and Henk for the kind compliments. I will forward these to the chairman who I am sure will pass them onto the relevant folks.
Henk, I am no doubt wrong, but I think this might be the Airfix 1:24 18002 Junkers Ju87B-2 Stuka... here's a picture of it from the Airfix site... looks similar... and about the right size....
Thanks for the comments of encouragement re. the photography... I'll try that next time...

Hi Rudi!
All the models look great! Next time take some pics of warships too I know that they are around...
Also the place where you meet looks interesting...
What is it? A Museum?
Oh, and that Stuka is the Airfix 1/24 (just compare the massive size of it next to the Universal Carrier)!
Congrats to all members,
Skipper

Thanks for your comments Andy and Rui.
Rui,
just to appease you :-) :-) here is a picture I decided not to post because the Auto-Focus went a bit screwy...
Yes, your eyes do not deceive you :-) :-) behind the Tornado is a ship! There was also a Tamiya PB, but I didn't have a chance to photograph it... Interestingly the club has a good relationship with the SA Navy and they frequently go on tours of the Simon's Town Naval Dockyards...
Rui, the club meets in the Museum of the Castle of the Cape of Good Hope. Here are some links about it: http://www.southafrica-travel.net/westcape/cato_02.htm

And their official site: http://www.castleofgoodhope.co.za/
And an arial view of it:

p.s. "International" members: you are all welcome to pop on in at the Springbok Club for a virtual "dop en tjop" whenever you feel the urge...

Hey Rudi,
Thanks for posting some of the pics - good work by the guys!
Now I'm itching to show the diorama builder in particular the wonders of MIG pigments!
More pics please! Every modeller loves pics and can never get enough!
:-)
Cheers,
Graugrun
