Last weekend we lost our seventeen year old cat Mugwai to illness. We had said we wouldn't get any more pets but within a couple of days we decided we wanted another cat.
I did a search for a rescue cat centre nearby and found one near Howarth (Bronte country) so contacted them The result was that today we collected Buffy and Junior. Both are 18 months old females and were at the centre as their previous owner had moved abroad. It's taken less than a day for them to settle in, Buffy is the adventurous one, exploring every inch of the house and playing with its toys. Junior is more timid but is more of a soppy lovey-dovey cat. I had to share our new family members with my friends here.

Here's Buffy checking out the kitchen vegitation.

Here's Junior bravely moving towards the food dishes. (Note the slight paunch)

Did you use it as an excuse to stop off at the model shop?

Unfortunately not, the wife doesn't seem to mind my model building as long as she doesn't see them. I've got a couple of cupboards for storing everything in but they're jammed full of unmade kits. it looks like im going to have to complete some before I buy any more.

I think they are both adorable. And the fact that you got them from the rescue shelter is great. We have two ourselves that most everyone here knows, Panzer and Sherman, that we got at the humane society..best decision we could have made..

Please keep us posted with updated pics as you get to know them better and play dress up with them..lolol...

Hi Martin!

It's funny! The first cat looks like "Bouboule", a cat my parents once had and the second looks like "Gertrude", their 15 years old cat... The lived together for a while and it's "Gertrude" who was the most active and "Bouboule" who was the timid one...

As Mary said, the fact you got them from the Rescue Shelter (it is called SPA in France) is a good thing... maybe you could introduce them to my cat one day! His name is "Kakaouet", he is 1 year old and has no girlfriend yet... :-)

I have 3 cats, and they are certainly part of the family. (OK, I spoil them rotten) all are extremely affectionate, and get along rather well, although they do sometime have the dinner and seating arrangements discussions. I try to remove myself from these, especially when it's my lap they are discussing......!!!

uuuuuuuuummmmm, errr, aahh, the cat is female, about 18 months old?A little too young for that much tummy to be fat.........
Were the cats spayed?
No?
Could be Junioritas by the dozen soon
I have to joke about that as it's happened to me and at least one other person I know! :-) :-)
It all works out.
Cheers!

Martin -

Soon they'll be up on your work bench and playing with those fun, little pieces of plastic :-) Now where is that road wheel??? I know how much at part of a family any pet can be. We lost our cat "Fireball" (my son named her that cause she looked like a fireball when she ran...Orange colored tabby) after 22 years. Kids are out of the house, but the neighbor's cat likes our house better than sharing it's home with two other cats and a dog. We'll probably visit our local Humane Society this winter. House needs some filling up. Now where did those pieces go?

When we picked up the cats we were told they had been spayed. It is the policy of the rescue centre we used that all cats they rehome are neutered.

Just in case.............does anyone want a kitten?..........
