Ok....Who's going? For those going do you already have rooms booked? I have been bad and procrastinated about reservations. I hope I can still get something for the 19th.

Oh....Off topic, but I noted that the shirt company is working on building the apparel store. It's pretty funny as they have replicated most of the top and side menu bar, but it's on their servers. More on that soon.

I'm planning on attending. Probably spend the night on Friday and hit the show on Saturday or just drive up on Saturday morning. Not sure yet.

Hi Jim - I'm riding down with Lynn Kessler.
We're leaving on the 18th and staying to the end.
We have to leave a day early, because Lynn is
one of the contest judges, & has to attend meetings
for preparation of the show. - all the better - 3 days
in " military paradise "!
I guess i'll go to the Proving Grounds my first
day down. I REALLY HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE
AND FINALLY MEET THE CREATOR OF THIS
AWESOME FORUM.- By the way, we are staying
at the Econo Lodge. - The phone # is on the AMPS
site under AMPS 2002. - If you call now you just might
be able to get a reservation. - Please let me know how
you make out.

Just a word of caution, non-DoD ID card holders may have difficulty getting on post to see the museum, let alone the vehicles displayed throughout the post.

http://www.goordnance.apg.army.mil/odmuseum.htm Click on Ordnance Museum Foundation for an additional disclaimer echoing this notice.

I'll be there from 7-10 April and will ask if they plan on letting civilians on post to see the museum and displays.

That would be good to know. A trip to APG Museum is always worth it. Bring lots of film :-) :-)

I'm a maybe on attending AMPS 2002. That's a long haul for me, and the last flight out and back to Baltimore was a real adventure. I'll be making my decision at the last minute...

Finally made my reservations for AMPS. My wife has decided to come along with Emily. We don't travel much these days so any excuse is a good one I guess. Plus she wants to visit the Baltimore Aquarium while we are up that way.

We will be staying at the Four Points Sheraton - Aberdeen. Not cheap but then neither is my wife. She likes to stay at the better hotels. Not me...$28 Motel 6 anyone? hehe

I am looking forward to meeting more of you in the flesh. Perhaps a group of us can go out to dinner together. Anyone know the area well enough to recommend a place? Or will everyone be at Grumpy's?

Well, made reservations today. The wife and kids actually want to go. We'll be driving up on the 18th, hitting the show on the 19th and leaving the 20th. Were staying at the Holiday Inn and when I made reservations they only had two rooms left for that time period so if your going and haven't made reservations you better get to calling!

Has anyone seen a schedule for the 19th?

Bryan,
I think the 19th is mostly for judges and early bird buyers from what I can piece together. After all registration runs until 1:00pm on Saturday (the 20th). I am thinking about changing our plans and driving up Saturday morning and leaving Sunday. Then I can at least stay late enough on Saturday to see who wins.

Although does anyone know if a lot of the seminars are taking place Friday??

Actually, the judges meeting is early on the 19th, before the show opens. The vendors will be wheeling and dealing until Saturday afternoon, but us greedy suckers will have everything good snapped up by then.

I'll be heading down Thursday night with my Buddy and hopefully my old roommate from the Army. I'll be staying at the Econolodge down there.

Oh BTW the Sheriton down there isnt the greatest....I liked the Holiday Inn Better and it was cheaper.

I called both the Sheraton and the Holiday Inn and prices were the same for both for the military/AAA rate so at reagular prices they may be different. We settled on the Holiday Inn because of the indoor pool for the kids.

Were driving up Friday just so we don't have to get up early on Saturday. Hit the show and vendors on Saturday and then head back on Sunday. Laid back and no rush :-)

Yo Guys,

We should all get together at Grumpy's Bar & Grill to meet, grab some chow and have a drink or two! So what do you say? Yea, I know its late in the week but I thought I'd ask.
I'll be staying there with screamingeagle, Lynn Kessler and who knows sho?!

Anyway, lets set a time to meet and we'll reserve a BIG table before someone else grabs them all!

Grumpy's is at the Travelodge Hotel in Aberdeen. It's address is 820 W. Bel Air Avenue, Aberdeen.

Man, I sure hope my truck don't break down on the way there!!!

Jim and anyone else going to AMPS. I just read on RMS newsgroup, a posting by Cookie Sewell that exit 86 (the Aberdeen exit) is a mess, due to construction. However exit 89 (Havre de Grace) is OK.
Just a forewarning......

Now, wouldn't be cool if one of them was geeky enough to carry a wireless connection to the Internet - so us lubbers stuck here in other parts of the Model Universe could get real-time updates and vice-versa...

I second that notion, Gunnie!!! A cellular modem is just the thing they need! ...Even if it is a wee bit expensive...
