Now that the ALPS MD Printers are being discontinued, does anyone have an idea of a suitable replacement? I'm specifically looking for a printer that has a white ink cartridge (for custom decal creation). Any ideas?

I know that the ALPS printers are fairly common on eBay, but I'd rather not buy a printer that won't be supported/have readily avaiable cartridges in a year.

Ahhhh - the Quest for the Holy Grail...

No, there's no substitute for what the ALPS Printer offered in printing white - save using white decal paper. For several years I've printed my own decals using my trusty Epson Color Stylus 740. This isn't an expensive printer, so others could be used. I've had limited success printing very light grey colors to take the place of white lettering and codes - like bumper codes on US vehicles, but it isn't quite the same. For that, I've continued to use dry-transfers.

If you're not seeking the ALPS Printer for that application, I've found a good-quality inkjet printer just fine for this through practice.
