60 years ago today, the long fought war against the japanese in the pacific came to an end, the most costly war in history, ww2, was finally over.
Take a minutes silence to remember the fallen, the missing, and the ones who made it home.
They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning
We will remember them

Over here we call it VJ Day, (Victory over Japan). I'll be silent for two minutes at 12:00.

It is sad and a disgrace that, according to a poll, only a few % of school kids here could give the VJ date... The bleeding hart liberal pc namby pambies can be proud when, in 15 years time thecurrent generation of kids will either not be able to leave the home because they are obese, won't be able to get / keep a job because they cry when they realise that' not everybody is a winner', or won't bother to get a job as it's earier to steal, and with a bit of luck the home owner will try to defend his property by hitting the little [auto-censored], which means that the home owner becomes the criminal and the thief the victim who can sue the homeowner...
