first of all welcome to Armorama.

To get back into models you will need the basic tools....hobby knife sandpaper etc. Then you need to decide what type of model you like doing or you wish to do. There are some good armor kits out there that are excellent for either new people just starting or folk like yourself who are coming back into the hobby. I do not know what Plane or ship kits are good for beginners but you can ask that sort of question in the appropriate forum.

Cheers

G'day Chris welcome to Armorama

I agree with Cliff go to your local hobby store and pick your self up some basic tools a hobby knife, sprue cutters, sandpaper, some paint , some cheap brushes and some Tamiya masking tape (incredibly useful stuff).
Next step get yourself a cheap kit. For armor I would suggest a Dragon 1/72 kit, for aircraft I would suggest Revell Germany 1/72, for ships I have no idea sorry. These kits go together well and build up into nice replicas that won't break the bank if stuff it up.
The only other tip I would give is don't try and build a world beater with tons of after market bits first up, work your way up to these things after some practice.

Cheers

Welcome Chris agree with dave and Cliff just do a simple out of the box first -ask any questions on the forums here and before long you will be back doing enjoyable models -and that is the main thing -make them for yourself -sure learn at trial things to improve but you don't have to make the model of the Centuary- Leave that to Cliff :-) :-) ( Cliff is a very talented modeller and scratch builder)

LOL! thanks for the compliment mate.

Any thing you need answers to regardless of how silly it seems to you at the time don't hesitate, ask away. You will find after a while that your old skills will start coming back to you.

cheers
Cliff
