Can anyone remember the name of a film from a while back.
It starred Rihard Basehart (of voyage to the bottom of the sea fame. Another series I liked when I was young)
The film was about a B17 I think, it was shot down over the desert. It tells the story of the crew who find out that they are really dead when the body recovery team turn up years later.

Hi Dave,
That's the story all right,
I just remembered I saw a documentary on the Discovery chanel about the true story.
I presume lady be good was the name of the plain.
I wonder if the doc or the film is out on DVD.
All the best
Vic
P.S. Where abouts are you in the South West?

The film was a made for TV movie called Sole Survivor. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065007/
Besides Richard Basehart it also had William Shatner, of Star Trek. The film was lossely based on the story of the B 24 Lady Be Good, but it's a B-25 instead. It's also very similar to a Twightlight Zone episode.
The plane they used for Sole Survivor was at the Planes of Fame air museum when I was younger in Buena Park, California. It was set up just like a set from the movie. My friend and I snuck behind the rope and almost got kicked out of the place. It was pretty cool.

Hi Dave,
Uxbridge is close :-)
Good to see you here.
I'll give Silver Screen a go.
I thought it was a good film, especially the first time round when you don't really know what's going on.
I was quite young when I saw it the first time.
