I know I've read some threads recently on how hard this was to come by here in the States. Well, Great Models has a small quantity. I don't know how much or how long it will last, so if anyone is still looking for some, you better move fast.

What's the advantage of the extra thin cement? Never used it, have NO clue about it so I'm curious. Thanks!

well, i have the extra thin and regular one... the extra thin has a nice smal brush aplicator, the other one has a big ugly one.. main difference is the extra thin is thinner and flows throught hte seems of a model better. but for 4 extra bucks id rather buy it once for hte nice aplicator, then use the cheaper stuff lol

Think of it as a bottle of Tenax7R that won't tip over just for looking at it wrong.

Similar properties to Tenax, but not quite as hot, so not as much scarring of the surface. A bottle will last you a long time.

Never used Tenax but after the scarring comment about it, I think I'll stick with my regular glue and try out the Tamiya extra thin stuff too.

You mean they charge you $4 more to buy the Tamiya Thin Cement, than they do the regular Tamiya Cement????? That is a rip off....as their cost is the same....well with in a few cents of each other anyway. Retail prices should be the same in any case.

GM lists it for $3.40. Tamiya regular cement is $2.15. I don't know if it's worth the extra $$$ or not since I've never used either one. I was just passing along the info since I had read that some others were looking for it.

Couldn't agree with you more. The "thinness" of the cement makes it a lot easier to handle, in my opinion.

Especially with the small brush applicator - doing that 'let the capillary action' thing is a lot easier now. Talk about pinpoint accuracy, too.

I just managed to get my local shop to get a box of 12 for me and the guys in the model club.

I love the stuff! Square bottle so it is hard to tip over.

I've still got a square of 2 in blueboard foam insulation with a hole in the center to hold it though... I AM that clumsy..

The brush applicator is worlds better than the one in the Testors bottle, and it has the perfect viscosity, a little thicker than Tenax , but like others have said , without the crazing.

I haven't tried it on clear parts maybe later.

Now if I can only get them to get me the new JGSDF paints...
