After 13 years of loyalty I had to say good-by to the big brown crown, Crown Victory that is. Many a years she took the girls to cheerleading practices and games, the sons little league baseball and not to forget the vacations and family trips. It was time and the wife didn’t want to hear anymore of it. So off we went to the nearest Ford dealer. My eyes gleamed at all the new Crowns, blue one, red ones and even a light brown one. Well again…the wife didn’t want to hear anymore of it, NO CROWN was the answer. So after three hours we decided on a 05’ Taurus SE, Dk shadow gray metallic. We got a great deal so I can’t complain, even got $3.000 for the trade. Yeah $3.000 we all know how that works. I’m going to miss the ol’ Big Brown Crown.

Didn't you let go of another (race)car short time ago?

I can understand the pain howerver.
I'm thinking of 'devorcing' my Nissan Primera, but it has been such a friend for years now...

There's a book called The Millionaire Next Door. The author studies the habits of people who are very well off, beyond what you'd think they were. One thing they checked into was what kind of cars these people drove. The Crown Victoria was tops on the list. The author said it was because the cars were big, a great value, lasted a long time, and made the most sense. Sounds like you've had at least one of the habits of the truly rich.
