I heard that a lot of new 1/35 Revell Kits are infact, old Dragon kits. For instance the Jagdpanzer IV L/48. Is this true? How can you decipher which is a true kit by Revell, and which is a repackaged Dragon??

Yep, a lot of old DML kits are marketed by Revell, just as some Italeri kits are marketed by Tamiya in the far East. I should think however, that you would want to know which are in fact originally DML because they are superior to Revell? :-)

funny how the plastic model companies swap products and stick their name on the box.

I bought a 1/350 arizona from "mini hobby model" brand, and it's actually mode from trumpeter's molds, but "re-tooled".

Yes, and I have the "Banner" one that is the same.

It's really like a detective show. Trying to figure out the background of some kits. "Is this a DML or a Revell? Is it brand new, or some rebox from twenty years ago."

That's where sites like this are so great. You can almost always find the history of any kit out there, to know if it's something you want.

What's even more confusing is that Revell initially released the DML M1A2 in the 90s and now issue the quite different Italeri M1A2 in a Revell box.
