I was at the LHS last night and looked over the new Tristar Pz IV. I noticed that is had the name of the designer, along with somebody who helped with research, and I think the person who did the CAD drawings, all on the box. I also noticed that the DML T34/76 Mod 1941 I got the other day had the designer and draftsman's names in the instructions. Is this a new trend? Will people begin to look for such things on the box in order to judge if they want to buy other kits by the same people?

Hi Rodger!
I don't know if it is a new trend, or if it's a way of making this modelers (3D or for real) known!
Whenever I can (if I have this info) I'll give credit to the master maker...
The same sort of thing happened a few years (decade(s)) with the illustrators how made the box art - Airfix, Revell, Matchbox, Hasegawa, Tamiya and latter Dragon had almost their brand recognized by the "cover"!
So, if the master modeler recognition is half way to know in advance if a model is good (or not), with disregard from the box top quality, I agree with this new branding!
Just my 2 cents

That's pretty common in the figure field. The sculptor will be listed as will the person who paints the sample on the box.

That's great Derek and Steve. I like the idea of these credits. It's like going to a movie directed by a favorite director, or reading a book from a favorite author. knowing who is doing something can help you decide if you want to spend your money.

This is very common for figures. And it can have a real influence on people's choice to buy, at least in the figures camp. Certain sculptors (Mike Good, Raul La Torre, etc.) have really strong followings.
