Yep, 4 bombs in London mentioned on CNN.
Keep your head up over there guys!

In The Netherlands we hold our breath also; can happen anytime here too. It was 'promised' by terrorists...

Hi guys so far we have four explosons but they were small they think they were detonatorsno innocent people injured but the B.B.C. have just said that one of the bombers was injured by his own device (i will reserve comment on that) and has been arrested also just come on the news that another man has been arrested

I had to think hard as to what to reply without too many curses.

May the explosives that terrorists handle stick to their hands and go off when they scratch their balls.

1 casualty as of this post. One person was wounded at, it is believed, Warren Street.

Lucky in appears all 4 bombs were duds.

And from what I hear on the news one of the people reasonable was shot by police today.

Lets hope this failure gives Britain the evidence they need to find out who’s behind the attacks and put a stop to it.

Scotland Yard have confirmed that the person that was shot this morning on the tube was indeed shot dead. As he was running away, I don't think he was innocent. And I won't 'reserve' comment, the five bullets that where pumped into him, were well deserved... The first bleeding hart who starts about 'human rights ' etc, might just want to talk to the families of those killed ( no, murdered) by these suicide bombers. They show neither mercy nor do they carefully target a defined enemy... no mercy should be extended to them either. If they are caught, I for one don't see why I should pay for many years to come to keep them locked up...give them their wish to go to a better place, and help them on their way ...

Sorry for the rant, but if they are going to make a habit of this, they may find that they are picking on the wrong people..

It appears that he was wearing a baggy puffer jacket (unusual in a the summer even here), had broken through a security screen and tried to jump onto a train despite being warned to stop by Police. There is speculation, as phorensic teams are still 'examining him' a couple of hours later, that he was potential suicide bomber.

There must have been a darned good reason for British coppers to open fire whilst members of the public were around.

Henk,

You said it all for me, excellent post.
I agree with you 100%.

I read a report from someone who said they didn't hear the police identify themselves. So what.
You can imagine it can't you.
The shout of "Stop police" followed by a great big bang.
Someone else said "they shot him while he was on the floor. Again so what.
You can't give a suicide bomber any chances can you. They want to die so they have to be stopped as quickly as possible with no chance to react.

Well done to the British police.

Just released pictures of the suspects on Fox News. The one guy has a "New York" tee shirt on. It warms my heart to know that these guys have a deep seated sense of irony as they go out and plant bombs on subway cars...

Shaun

Really impressed they got those photos up so fast.

I must say, I admire the Britt's... They are an extremly strong people... The handeling of the recent events have been marvelous both by the people and the authorites. The US should take note.

My best to all of you in the UK. I have been listening to the BBC everyday and keep track of all that is going on, it matters to me. God bless you all, I would like to see an end to all this nonsence, death, and violence. One day may we all live in peace.

As for the terrorists, take them bloody well out!

My only worry about the shooting today is that the pc bigade and the bleeding hearts dont crucify this policeman as an ex copper I totally agree with the shooting if he was carrying you dont get a second chance, also i distrust the met commissioner that guys to P.c. for my liking he was the idiot who paid £9,000.00 to invite a cleric who says suicide bombers are a good thing to london to speak to young muslims the day afer the fatal bombings and he couldnt understand why people were outraged. I cant remember inviting Himmler or Heydrich over to hear their side of the story.

I was in London last Sat for the BMSS Platinum comps, they were held in a hotel in Russell Square, round about lunch time i got a wee bit thirsty as you do and popped into a pub for a pint, sitting at a table by the window having my beer and a ciggie watching the world go by,no cars, just people walking around doing what they have to do,going to work, shopping,or siteseeing. There was two Coppers one male one female on the inside of some incident tape directing bemused tourists as to which way to go around the barricades,i looked to my left up the street and there was plastic sheeting from building to building, but through i could see the remains of the bus where folks had lost there lives,i thought here am i having a pint of beer, worrying about comps and murder has been done just up the road, just then a mannie joined me at the window,he said he and his family were checking out of the hotel and cutting their holiday short and going home as it was too dangerous to stay( he wasna British)i said to him, stay enjoy your hols,we are allies in Iraque, this is just another front line, never let the b@*%"s beat you down,
go up to Scotland have a few beers, shout out Celtic ya bassas, you will have lot more to worry about. The mind set of those who are behind all this bother do not understand who we are,but will in the end

I had the same thought Dave. I am sure they are fine.

I have so many things that I would like to add but I won't. I will say this this, I was absolutely amazed that the NYCLU got their dander up because the police in NY were doing random searches of back packs in the subway. I went to the Brickyard 400 (yeah NASCAR) and the the Indy 500 last year and they searched every cooler and back pack going into Brickyard. Now, I am all about civil liberties. But, if you don't want your right not to be searched to be violated, don't ride the Tube, or the Subway, or go to the Brickyard. My right to go see a Colts game or a NASCAR race shouldn't guarentee some @ss^*& right to kill me and my family with a nail bomb.

But, maybe that is just me.

Got to agee with you Shaun having your Civilrights and Liberties are great but not when your being shovelled into a plastic bag, I think to many people live sheltered lives now days they dont seem to understand that when a bomb goes off you dont report to make up during the adverts. I dont care if i get searched all day if it keeps me and the family alive.

I most whole heartedly agree with all said. My wife and I were in the UK in May and June before all of this, My brother asked us if we would go back over right now, without hesitation we both said YES! In a heartbeat! I Love England and its people with a passion... I am da** proud of my ENGLISH heritage! You know, I am not a violent person by nature, and have been taught to take a peaceful resoultion if one is avaialble. I also firmly believe there comes a time when fighting back is not only warrented, but well justified. I will refrain to give my honest lengthy opinion, (because it would not be PC) but I will say the British authorites dealt with this stituation in the appropriate manner. CHEERS MATES!

My heart goes out to the Brits. Hurts to think of anyone going through what we did back on 9/11.
I get my lunch bag searched twice going to work. First by the main gate guard then by the m-16 armed guard at the hanger entrance. I just smile and open my bag.
Hang in there England, remember you are not alone.

did any of the higher echelon of the government ?

Well, they clear the streets when Tony's armoured limo has to take him anywhere.

I was on my way through London on Thursday lunchtime and was lucky to avoid getting caught up in the chaos. Think the tube line I was on was the only one not to be curtailed.

And for the PC people bleating about a shoot to kill policy, just be glad that you don't have to make that split-second decision.
