Is anyone else having trouble finding Fine Scale Modeler at their local B&N? I haven't been able to find it (or any other modeling mags) at my local store in ages. They do carry the Annual apparently, as well as the Auto Scale Modeler. But otherwise no other modeling mags. What's odd is that the store in Charlottesville, VA carried many of the UK pubs as well as FSM.
I was just curious if it's a store by store kind of thing.
Thanks,
Jim

It seems what they stock varies from store to store. Most of the ones around Plano have FSM but only 1-2 has Military in Scale and only 1 has Military Modeling.

Not that I ever buy FSM any more, you've spoiled me here Jim, better stuff and for free, but my local B&N carries FSM, but no other modeling mags. They have a great selection of history mags, and plenty of mags with half naked women on them of course.

I haven't checked lately...... but it seems to be a strange system of ordering they have.
When I lived over in Bergen County, there were 2 B&N's on Rt17, one north bound, one south bound, in Paramus.
I would need to go to the north bound one for certain modeling magazines, and to the south bound one for the others. Never saw the same ones in both stores. Didn't bother me much in the old days since I passed both stores in the course of the day when I was out working for the old job of oil burner repairs.
The situation seems to be the same where I live now, the one in Morris Plains (which I pass on the way to work) seems to carry a different selection than the one in Ledgewood, which I pass each week.
I can honestly say that with the rising cost of these magazines and the internet and great sites like this, I have not bought or stopped to check on them in many months, so can't say what's happening here now, or which magazines they are carrying.

Makes perfect sense, Dave. You have to go to two stores to get the items you want (or check out the items you might want) placing you in a positi onto make more impulse purchases..

Borders usually has the FSM, and the one that specifically is military models.

Jim,
Go to River Park and try the Borders Books. I've seen copies there in the past. Also try Hobby Town USA on Marks, they always have the latest edition .
Hey.....is it HOT enough for ya?

My B&N has FSM,1or2 aicraft model mags and 4-6 train rags.Bear in mind(and I lose mine all the time)they don't have an issue every month(10/year plus annual). This screws me up in a big way.

My B&N caries it regularly, Borders does too.
I found out a spin off Mall book store - Daltons (I think)carries it too.

:-) Several times when our contest was noted inteh paper, I had women :-)8 call me asking how to enter. It killed me to explain to them it was static scale models we'd be judging. Hmm,
maybe we should add 1:1 or larger scale plastic!
