AOL did a really good story on this. He was at Normandy and got severly wounded there. I think overall, he was my favorite character in the original Star Trek. I was impressed that he alays enjoyed the line "Beam Me Up Scotty" rather than resent it being said to him by milions of fans. It makes me sad to hear of his death, but rejoice at the great life he had and shared with us.

Funny, I had just put 'Star Trek 2 Wrath of Kahn' in my DVD player the other night and was wondering how 'Scotty' was doing. The last I had heard about him was last year and that he was in very poor health.
I am a lover of the original Trek and the original cast movies and it's a bit sad to think how long ago all that was now. Even though I first saw the show in re-runs in the 80's, it still seemed fresh at the time.
How can I ever forget the great characters on that show? Bones and Mr. Scott...

Scotty was one of my favorite heroes, too. When the Enterprise was in a jam, he could always be counted on to pull Captain Kirk's tail end out of the fire! Without him, the Enterpries and crew would have been eaten by an intelligent cloud or consumed in an anti-matter explosion several times over.
