Modeling clay makes a great clamp for small parts For example sherman headlights I drill a small hole in them first about half the diameter-with a pin vise drill then place it in the clay,I push it down just below surface I then use a dremel #107 engraving cutter(real small ball rotory file) I set the speed at the lowest rpm It hollows them out nicely Also if I use a jordio rubio 75mm barrel for the sherman I place the mantlet in the clay and use a 1/8 inch drill bit on mantlet so the jordio barrel will fit At least i believe it's 1/8

But Chad don't you think you get odd stains on the plastic? I haven't done what you have suggested but I have used modelling clay for other things and have found that I get a spot that I can't paint!! The different type of clay could be the problem too!!!
