IPMS Ottawa - CAPCON 2005 – Canadian Tamiya-con Update

Hi folks,

Lots of news for your today, as we being the last months of preparation for CAPCON 2005, host of the Canadian Tamiya-con.

Capcon is hosted by IPMS Ottawa and is a regular IPMS style model contest. We have many awards that are open to all, Canadians, Americans, Europeans, everyone is invited to participate. We are also the host of the Tamiya-con Trophy this year which is only open to Canadians as it is sponsored by the Canadian Tamiya Distributor.

Our Theme Awards include:

Aircraft - Floatplanes & Flying Boats
Armour - Amphibious Vehicles - must be able to navigate in water, i.e. – DUKW or duplex drive Sherman – vehicles with deep wading gear are not eligible for this category
Ship - British Ship – of British origin or markings
Sci-Fi - Star Trek – open to any Star Trek series (original, TNG, DS9, etc) or Star Trek movie.
Automotive - Mustang
Figures - Familiar Faces – recognizable character either real or fictitious, i.e. – James Bond, Oddjob, Russell Crowe as General Maximus
Junior - Warhammer
Swords to Plowshares – land based vehicles only that have been converted from military use to civilian use, i.e. – Jeep to first Zamboni, tank to farm vehicle, etc.

Man, is it Capcon weekend yet? No! But, it is only one weekend away!
