If you missed the newspaper advertisment yesterday, ducking hurricanes or what have you, all the paint at Hobby Lobby is on sale for 1/3rd off. That is everything from spray paints to Winsor & Newton oils to the MM Acryl.

Stock up...

You need a coupon?

Is this national, regional, or just for Indy?

You don't need a coupon - it is a National thing - they have a disclaimer that not all stores may be participating. The one I visit has all their sales posted at eye level when you walk in.

Shaun,

thanks for the heads up - they have a good selection of paints @ the Hobby Lobby near me.

You are more than welcome everyone. Anyone remember the forum article about making the anti-slip coating on an Abrams by masking and using textured spray paint? If anyone could point me toward that thread I would appreciate it. I am planning on picking up a can of that paint at Ho Lo.
Tried the search function but came up emtpy.

Thanks in advance,
Shaun

Shaun,

I think Gino "Heavy Arty" did that one - he used Krylon spray paint for ceramics that a had a gritty texture in the paint - I can't recall what forum he posted the article in - I can't find squat in these forums (I'm sure that has more to do with me though). :-)

Max,

In my opinion :-) I find the Testors MM Acrylics to be just fine for me - Tamiya has a leg up on some color choices out there, but other than that they're pretty darn good.

Model Master Acryl is all I use. I AB it straight out of the bottle. Shake, unscrew the lid, stir and screw the AB on the bottle (Testors/Aztec airbrush) and shoot away. Clean up is a breeze since it is water based. No really harsh fumes, either.
Granted, the color selection is pretty limited but they do have Olive Drab... :-) :-) :-)
(Too many Shermans in the stash)

As a note you might have to mention to the cashier that the Model Master paints are on sale. Technically they are made by Testors so they should qualify, but since they don't always say Testors on the bottle the clerk might not know it. Just like on Saturday I bought some Excel mini-files. They were listed as being on sale in the add, and at the location in the shop, but I had to mention it to the clerk so I'd get the 50% off.

I plan on stopping by today and stocking up.
