James, I guess it's not that uncommon... the States supplied the new Iraqi army, and the rebel forces appear to have been targetting this group of people in particular... so I guess the insurgent could have picked a M16 off one of these... also, didn't the CIA fund ops into Iran for decades...
But yeah, I suppose the stereotypical depiction would be one with an AK...

yeah but since iran & iraq were at war for ten years, i can't see both sides having them.. also the m-16 is a complex weapon with many moving parts the AK 47 is more in keeping with this type of warfare, alot of these people will not be receiving army training on how to maintain a weapon... so the AK 47 is better choice of weapon for this as it is simpler too work and requires a lot less training, why do think that such a weapon is so widely used in developing countries..... this too me looks like more badly reasearched figures... you only have too look at the figure verlinden made of British troops too see how wrong they got it.

I concede to you oh wize one... :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) Was really just taking through the ol' bung hole again wasn't I? LOL :-) :-)

Some interesting news this time! I quite like the insurgent! It's a delicious character with lots of potential for transfering to other ages/ arab conflicts! I also like the sitting room, the winnery and the russian figures! Nice news this time!
Cheers and happy modelling!
