After 3 years on line I finally got ripped off. Bought the Spiderman animated series set. Put it on and no sound. The guy said my 3 year old DVD player was too old and that I should get a new one. Right spend $200 to play a $15 dvd set. Well, I paid through paypal, so I filed a claim on his ass. Don't buy DVD's from formerdiscover53221...his name is Trong Njugen or something like that .

Thanks for the warning!
I hate bad-Ebayers even when it's about small ammounts

I ordered and paid once for a CD-ROM with 2000+ pictures of SFOR an KFOR vehicles and troops, together whit a reprinted StuG manual.
Great reference stuff I thought, but I never got it!!!!
The guy says he never got paid, postoffice says they delivered the money at his home (registered post).
Later I discovered it was not the first time he done that...
A month later he emailed me that he post me the CD-ROM anyway. Still waiting for it for 1,5 years...

It's escalating. I filed a claim because he said no refund because the disc worked on his machine. He's "pissed because I filed a claim" and he was "thinking about refunding my money but not now". That he thinks "I'm shady". So far no one has left feedback, he commented that he is "smarter " than me because he has a perfect record and I have one glitch which was retalitory after the seller changed mind after I had won and paid for item. I just figure that if I win, I win and paypal will hande my refund, if I lose I lose. WOn't bothr with feedback unless he does something to me.

Steve,

Yeah I hate idiots like that, had one guy ruin my perfect score over a book I won. Here are the feedbacks,

never received book ,had to go to dispute for refund, BEWARE!!!!!! took 3 mths.
Reply by snowywhite: Total Rat, item sent, refunded him & still he gives neg. Charge back artist.
Follow-up by 3267joe: Wrong never sent, refunded once REPORTED check his negatives I’m not only one!!!

Never, never ever once had any problems using ebay until I dealt with this guy. I guess it’s my fault, I checked his score and showed that he had some negative feedback. Shame though, he does have some nice PE, resin and model kits. Now when I see “BUYER BEWARE” I’ll move on.

As for the DVD’s there are some that don’t work in American players and you have to watch for. When I buy DVD’s on ebay, I’ll look to see "DVDs guaranteed to work on US players
I'm sure you knew this, just in case others did'nt. Sorry about your bad bid.

The DVD probably works, its just encode for a different Region of the world. It also depends if the DVD is formatted in PAL or NTSC too. YOur DVD player might have a switch that lets you change the region so you can watch the DVD on your curretn player.

0 No Region Coding
1 United States of America, Canada
2 Europe, including France, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Arabia, Japan and South Africa
3 Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Borneo and Indonesia
4 Australia and New Zealand, Mexico, the Caribbean, and South America
5 India, Africa, Russia and former USSR countries
6 Peoples Republic of China
7 Unused
8 Airlines/Cruise Ships
9 Expansion (often used as region free)

A bad experience can really p@@s you off, but remember, there are good people out there.
I put in a ' if I get it I do, if not never mind ' starting bid on a Azimut kit. Check next day when I get home, I've got it. Steal... I email the seller that I can't pay right there, but will pay through paypal next thursday when I'm paid. He replies, "that's fine". Thursday comes, I pay, sent confirming email, he replies..."Thanks, sent parcel on Monday, hope it arrives soon". He actually sent of the parcel before I paid.... How's that for trust?
Just remember, you win some, you lose some... chalck it to experience, and don't let it put you off.

Cheers
Henk
