Hi All:

Early in August my family and I will be taking a trek out west, to The Little Bighorn National Battlefield Monument, Yellowstone National Park, The Grand Tetons, Mt. Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Monument. We'll be driving from Wisconsin, and I could use some advice and expertise on keeping my sanity (and my wife's) more or less intact in the van. We are looking to buy a portable DVD player to keep my twelve-year-old daughter from the "Are we there, yets". I've done some on-line research, and quite frankly, the reliability issues in general scare the hell out of me. The last thing we need is for it to crap out before we hit Minnesota. Does anyone have any experience with them, and any recommendations? We're looking at spending in the neighborhood of $200.

Thanks:
-Charlie

Hey Charlie my oldest daughter has a DVD player thats in her van, it has two large 7" widescreen LCD displays keep both grand daughters busy. It plugs into the lighter. I just called and asked her about it and what she spent. She said somewhere around $250.00. She also said that there was a plug that connects the PS2 to it, so that will keep your little one just a busy. The player was made by Durabrand and that she got it from Walmart.

Have a great trip

If you plan on plugging a PS2 in, just in case if you are, you have to get some cable adapters to plug into the DVD player so you can plug in the other cords. the Yellow, white and red ones i mean.
