Does anyone know if a flashbang grenade looks like a smoke cannister grenade or something different?

M84 Flash-Bang grenade basically looks like a thinned down M18 Smoke Grenade with a bunch of holes in the case. Here is a pic.

Depends on the manufacturer / model.
The ones used by Australia (well over 12 years ago was the last time I saw one in the flesh so to speak) did look like a smoke cannister grenade. There was also multiple "bangers" being trialled which where different - (they would detonate up to 3 times very rapidly increasing the disorentation of the victim) these where larger and of a different shape (never got to handle one of these unfortunately)

I've been on vacation and missed this thread early on. I know you have completed most of the work, but here are the ones we used...........

Most of the guys on our team carried an extra pin on either our Kevlar helmet, on on our tactical vest just in case we pulled a pin, but did not need to deploy the device, just slip the extra pin back in the handle.
