I am having a hard time finding out exactly what type of weapon this was. Various captions state that it is a duel purpose Japanese naval gun that was on Peleliu. I think it's a 120 mm, but not sure. On the off chance that someone might know what it is or a better place to figure it out please let me know.

The photo isn't the greatest but shows 2 round items on the top of the weapon, (shows how much I know)

If anyone know of specific details or where someone might be able to find the details to build one, please let me know.

Anyway Just thanks for looking and for any help,

Bob

Noone wants to hazzard a guess?

No arty people out there, or Japanese Navy buffs?

Thanks anyway,
Bob

Might be the photo is so small, you can't really see it.

Kilntime, the only Japenese naval gun I know of with 2 recoil cylinders on top is the IJN Type 89 12.7 dual purpose A.A. gun.
There is a picture of this single barrel and a double barrel piece on Mission Models website under PITROAD ground forces.
The kits are rather expensive but I've been drooling over the double barrel job for awhile now.
Disfunctional computer skills prevent me [ such a Wally ] from directly linking you to the pics.

Oh yeah, can you picture this kit built in a Tarawa or other Pacific Island dio build. If memory serves me correctly [ which is at best a long shot ] it was on Tarawa.
A dio like that would look sweeter than my sisters black cats as*.

ALRIGHT!

Thanks Cheyenne, I now have someplace to start, Sorry about the pic you guys but it's all I had. I've been gathering info and items for this dio for along time, but it will be set in Peleliu. I found a good action reference photo I wanted to try and copy it into a dio.

Thanks again,
Bob

Picture of the dual mount found last week, couldn't post it because the problems Armorama had last Friday. Appears to be a 5"/40 gun.
