It’s hard to believe, but after all the work, and all the wait, we’re just a little less than one month out from this year’s IPMS/USA National Convention! That’s right, one month from today, many of you will be in Atlanta for what should be the largest ever IPMS/USA convention, and possibly the largest scale modeling event EVER!

So with about a month left, here are a few key statistics to give you an idea of just how big it’s going to be:

Pre-registered Attendees: 800+

The previous record for pre-registrations was 500, and the record for overall registrations, including on-site is 1100 – so we’re only about 300 away from that number, we expect to exceed this by a wide margin!

Hotel Room Nights: 2500+

The all-time room-night record was right at 2000 – so we’ve exceeded that by 25%

Vendor Tables: 426

The all-time record vendor room had 325!

The big thing we want to touch on in this update is registration. Many of you know that we’ve put a full-court press on getting as many attendees pre-registered as possible. The numbers above bear out that we’ve had some success in this arena. We’d like to keep this push on until right up until the time of the show. There are two ways to get this done:

On-Line Registration

You can do full registration for the show, including payment and model registration, through our website.

Head to the “Registration” page on our site, click on first time registrant, and follow the process through to the end. You can add models right then, or go back in through our “Update Registration” function and add your models.

If you’ve already done your basic registration and need to go back in and adjust your payment, or add models, you can do this through the “Update” interface. We know that many of you that registered early didn’t add your model registrations because you didn’t know what would be done, or ready in time for the show, now’s the time that you can go back in and add these on to your registration. We’ll keep this function open until July 15th, at which time we’ll close it down so that we can generate the registration packages for you to pick-up at the show.

If you complete this all the way through, all you’ll need to do, is come to the pre-registration line at the show, pick up your package, confirm the information, and you’ll be ALL DONE! It’ll be waiting, pre-printed for you, all we’ll need is your ID.

Paper/Manual Registration

We know that some of you just aren’t in to the on-line system, don’t want to put your information in, or for some similar reason don’t want to use the on-line system. For those of you in this camp, we have PDF versions of the registration forms available, just click on the link below and scroll down to the bottom of the page.

http://www.ipmsusa2005.org/registration.htm

The Convention Registration Form is to register you for the convention and to collect pre-payment allowing us to put you in the system as fully registered for the show. Please download the form, fill it out, and return it to the address on the form, along with your payment – mail it with enough time that it arrives here to Atlanta NO LATER THAN July 13th – otherwise, print it out, fill it out and bring it with you to the show.

The Model Registration Form is to register your model entries for the contest. Fill out one form for EACH of your entries – fill it out in it’s entirety. While the form does ask for duplicate information, this is so that we can speed you through the registration line, and not hold the form for data entry while you wait – we’ll split it into three sections, and speed you on your way. Please bring your completed forms with you to the convention – do not mail them in, as we will not be data entering these forms until the show begins.

Many of you have already mailed in your Convention Registration Forms – those are being processed now and will be entered in the system shortly, and if you provided an e-mail address, you should receive notification – along with your user name and password should you wish to go back into the system and add model entries to your registration.

We are REALLY excited about the success we’ve had so far with getting people registered for the show, it should make a big difference in the lines at the show.

The seminar schedule for the show is done and should be posted very soon. (possibly today) We’ve got some great stuff planned. On top of the modeling seminars mentioned in past updates, some others of interest include, a D-Day veterans panel, which will include three Allied D-day vets, from the 101rst, a British commando, and one of the Navy "spotters" that landed with the first waves on the beaches. One that will be familiar with regular Armorama visitors, Sgt 1rst class Eric Olsen, who participated in both "Thunder Runs" through Baghdad. These are just a couple to "whet" your appetite .

We’re REALLY looking forward to having everyone down for the show, if you have any questions or difficulties, please do not hesitate to contact us at: [email protected]

Last, (for now) here is the site address if you don't have it already.

It is probably the best way to stay updated on what is happening, and if anybody needs too, feel free to PM me or reply to this thread

Cheers,
Mike
