Hi everybody,
I wanted to let all the Pittsburgh area folks know that the Pittsburgh 3 Rivers IPMS club is having a model building demonstration at the Hobbytown USA store in Robinson Township.
It's next Saturday, June 15th from 11:00 am until maybe 3:00 pm.
Right now there are 5 or 6 of us attending from the club.
We're going to sit around and work on models and answer questions from anyone that shows up.
It's designed to help promote the hobby, the store and our club.
If you can, stop in and say hello
Thanks,
Craig

Craig,
I will be there, I really appreciate things like this as it is a great help for inexpierienced modelers like myself to be able to talk to "the pros". Thanks!

Hi Mark,
Good to hear that.
Hope you're able to make it down Saturday.
Looking forward to meeting you too.
I'm gonig to PM several others from Armorama that I've talked with in the Pennsylvania forum.
Maybe it'll turn out to be a big Armorama rally

I might be able to make it out that way.
But I don’t know where exactly Robinson Township is.
If you could give me direction from any major road I would appreciate it.

Hi Jacob,
Here's a link to the map that comes from the Hobbytown USA website for this store...
http://maps.yahoo.com/py/maps.py?BFCat=&Pyt=Tmap&newFL=Use+Address+Below&addr=3100+Robinson+Lane&csz=15205&Country=us&Get%A0Map=Get+Map
And to the store...
http://pittsburghpa.hobbytown.com/dailyhomepage/?id=73
I see from yor profile that you're from Somerset. So I'm guessing that you'll be traveling the turnpike out to here. Here's a link that will get you from the turnpike to the store..
http://mappoint.msn.com/(bshgo0qyk0mnt0zhccooi5u5)/directions.aspx?&StartName=Pennsylvania+Tpke%2c+Pittsburgh%2c+PA+15239&StartLocation=40.45799%2c-79.75788&EndName=Robinson+Town+Centre+Blvd%2c+Pittsburgh%2c+PA+15205&EndLocation=40.45361%2c-80.17201&DataSetLangID=USA&RouteType=Quickest&RouteUnit=Miles
Typical for this type of mapping software, it's not perfect. Ignore the directions for getting off of the turnpike as listed and just get off at the Pittsburgh exit. this will take you directly on to the Parkway East I-376.
After that the directions are good to get you to Robinson Town Center. Once you're in the mall, look for Ikea on your right. Travel to the red light and turn right, going up the hill. The Hobbytown store is on your left.
Piece of cake :-) .
Hope to see you there.
Craig

Thanks for the directions.
I’ll try to get out there but I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to.
Theres been a lot going on here lately but as long as I have an extra car here I’ll come out.
Your probably be able to recognize me by the camo hunting boots.

Hi Jacob,
You're welcome. Glad to help out.
You'll be able to spot us without much trouble. If it's like the last time we did this, we'll be gathered around a bunch of tables towards the back windows.
Hope to see you Saturday.
Craig

Craig,
I want to thank you for the time spent today, it was a very enjoyable talk. I can see you have a great group here in the Steel city. I'll be looking forward to possibly joining your club in the near future. Thanks again!
PS, I got out of there and only parted with $29.00, and it was real hard to do, it's a great shop.

Hi Gary,
It was good meeting you too. Thanks very much for coming down to visit us. We had fun that day even though only you and one other guy came out just to talk with us.
We're thinking it might be better to do this kind of thing on a cold rainy day in the fall rather than a beautiful summer Saturday :-)
I hope that you're able to come down to the club meeting this Friday. I think you'd enjoy yourself.
Later,
Craig

Hi Jacob,
No apology necessary. Thanks for even thinking of making such a long drive just to come out.
If we do this again, I'll be sure to post it on ArmoramA.
Thanks,
Craig
