I'm undecided about going to the IPMS Nationals in Atlanta in July (even with the huge Dragon co-exhibit). Our Kansas City chapter is hosting next year's Nationals. I would like to see everyone's outstanding work, but the time and money has me undecided.
I'm sure many of your have had the opportunity to go to a major show, including the USA Nats. What is your advice?

Can you afford it (time and money wise)? If so, go. That way you can always look back on having gone and enjoyed vs looking back and wishing you should have. Good memories are always better than regret.

Jeffrey,
For me it's pretty cut and dried, if the trip won't strap you financially or otherwise I'd do it. Beside the fact this is looking like it possibly could be one of the biggest Nationals ever, it will be good to see how everything works in preparation for your show in KC next year. Just to add, we had a meeting at the facility where they are holding the show last Saturday and it is very nice. Plenty of room inside, and plenty of parking outside. Also there is a large shopping mall right across the street and a smaller one connected to the show facility for the significant others who make the trip. (I don't know if that is good or bad

)
Cheers,
Mike

To caveat what Mike says, if you have the time and can afford it, but most importantly, do you really want to go?
If you are waffling, then you must not really want to go. If you do go, you may have a great time and be glad that you decided to go.

I've been to 2 One here in Dallas which was just absolutely breath-taking and one in Okla City which was only a 3 hour drive. It was great, but not like the Dallas. Me, if I had the where-with-all, I would go to Atlanta. But in your case on the flipside, next year it's in KC and you can go to that one.

Jeffrey, if you can swing it time wise and financially go. It should be the biggest NATs yet. There may also be some lessons learned to benefit your clubs show next year. You can never get back an oppurtunity that is passed up. Hope to see you in KC also. Out here.

Jeff, as already stated, if you can afford the time and $$ I'd go. With KC hosting next years, this might give you some insight in how to and how not to do some things. Call it a recon if you will. Take notes, enjoy the city (Theres a lot of it to enjoy) and check out some quality and awe inspiring work from around the nation. I'll see you guys in 06'. "Q"

Folks,
Thank you. It wasn't the time or money (I need a break, anyway). I think I am just over-tired. I'm going!

Good answer. Now, about that rubberized hoarse hair trade we could do in Atlanta...........
I'll be making the trip as well.
