What is the difference between the two Mr Surfacers?
I am curious to the benefits of Mr. Surfacer in general...
I know some use it for cast iron effects for armour but is its intended use as a gap filler?
What is its compostion? Is it a laquer or enamel or acrylic?
Cheers, Michael

Yes it can be used as a gap filler and 1000 makes a fine primer.

Mr Surfacer 500 will give you a coarser finish compare to Mr Surfacer 1000. Of course, there is Mr Surfacer 1200 with finer finishing.
You can use Mr Surfacer (brush or spray) for: -
1. Filler
2. Anti-skid surface
3. Cast iron effects
4. Mud build-up for armor
If I am I not wrong, Mr Surfacer is based on laquer but definitely not acrylic.
Addendum: I found an interesting article on Mr Surfacer here http://www.swannysmodels.com/Surfacer.html
